Notes about school board voteThree seats for 3-year terms and one for a 2-year term.
Proposition 2A non-binding advisory proposition asks voters if they support a veteran's exemption. The three-tier plan - if subsequently approved by the school board – would give non-combat wartime veterans an exemption of $6,000 off their home’s assessment, thus lowering their tax rate; combat veterans an additional $4,000 for a total of $10,000; and disabled veterans an additional $10,000 or $20,000 off the assessed value of their home. The school tax levy does not change, but shifts where the money comes from.
